What to see
The Church of Saints Eusebius and Victor is the highlight of Peglio: it sits on a hill next to the cemetery, offering a view of the Upper Lake. Originally established as a church linked to the parish of Gravedona, it became a parish church in 1461 (later a collegiate church). In the early 1600s, it was practically rebuilt: reconstruction and expansion took place between 1607 and 1613, and shortly after came the theatrical touch: a rich cycle of decorations and frescoes.
Inside, there is a single nave with six side chapels and an interior surprisingly "rich" for a mountain village: here, Giovanni Mauro della Rovere, known as the Fiammenghino, also contributed (early 1600s). Don't miss the portico with older frescoes and the atmosphere of a "community" sanctuary, built and adorned over the centuries thanks to the ties of Peglio emigrants with Sicily.
Getting there
By car, it takes 10 minutes to get up from Gravedona. There is ample parking.
