Colico is the "gateway" to the Alto Lario: here the lake opens up, the right wind arrives, and all around you have mountains and true nature. The Lungo Lago is perfect for strolling leisurely among beaches, glimpses of the landscape, and spots where you can stop for a quick bite. Moreover, you have history and iconic points just a stone's throw away: from the Forte di Montecchio to the views over the Adda and the opposite shore of the Lario.

The route starts from the lakeside of Colico and follows the shore towards the Bay of Piona, alternating stretches along the lake, dirt paths, and trails through the woods. After a brief panoramic ascent and a descent towards Lake delle Canne, the path returns to run alongside the Lario until reaching the Bay of Piona, amidst meadows, reeds, and beautiful views of the water. The return is made by retracing the Via dei Ciach back to the starting point.

From Colico, the route follows the lakeside towards the Ontano area and enters the Valtellina Trail, passing near the Selvaggia Cliffs. Amidst vegetation, reeds, and open views, one then reaches the Selvaggia Beach, a strip of land between the mouth of the Adda River and Montecchio Nord, one of the most natural and secluded spots in the area.
